Geithner, 52, the former Treasury Secretary, begins March 1 as president and managing director of Warburg Pincus, a private equity firm, according to a story in USA Today. He will be based in the company’s New York City offices.
Six months after he left his Washington post, he was seen with his wife Carole in a local Department of Motor Vehicles office to transfer his Maryland driver’s license and car registration back to his Westchester address.
Lohud.com Reporter Colin Gustafson who wrote about that DMV encounter said that the family had relocated to Bethesda, Md., in August 2009, upon Geithner’s appointment by the White House.
He wrote in August 2013 :
“Carole Geithner moved back to Larchmont in 2011 so her son could attend Mamaroneck High School for his senior year.
In March, the Geithners put their four-bedroom Maryland home on the market and vacated the place in July.
Since leaving his federal government post and moving back to Larchmont earlier this year, Geithner has started a new post as a ‘distinguished fellow’ on the Council on Foreign Relations, a think tank.”
