A vacant, historic bank building in Dobbs Ferry has a new owner, who is hoping to transform it into a multi-use property in the village’s downtown.
GHP Office Realty, a division of Houlihan-Parnes Realtors LLC based in White Plains, announces it has acquired 81 Main St., from First States Investors TRS, L.P. The price was not disclosed.
The building was most recently the former home to Wachovia Bank and was built in 1923. It has a total of 5,000 square feet including 36-foot high ceilings, large windows and a striking exterior.
“The architecture of 81 Main serves as a priceless backdrop for a new restaurant, bar, or high-end professional suite. The property offers vaulted ceilings, unique plaster detailing, and a fully intact vault to serve as a wine cellar or private dining room. Additionally, the high ceilings make it possible to create a mezzanine level perfect for private functions and extra seating,” says GHP in a press release.
The property has a potential of a ground floor retail and three floors for apartment units. It is estimated that at least seven residential units could be created through a redevelopment plan.
