In an unending quest for the perfect kitchen, I run across some serious contenders. Here’s Lee Feiken’s kitchen at her home, known as The Demarest House in West Nyack. The house dates to 1854, but the family has taken on a sensitive but awe-inspiring renovation, including the kitchen.
If you’dd like to see it in person, on Oct. 19, the Feikenses are opening their home to the public as part of the annual house tour sponsored by the Historical Society of Rockland County. Eclectic homes and historic sites throughout West Nyack will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Advance tickets cost $35. Buy tickets here:
