The very slim house on Grand Street in Mamaroneck is often pointed out as an oddity of home design and has made it into some record books for just this reason.
Now, the 10-foot-wide abode has to deal with termites showing that some home problems are just plain universal.
Phil Reisman, LoHud.com’s columnist extraordinaire, recounts the story of those wood-eating bugs at this historic home with emotion of someone who truly appreciates the uniqueness of the structure. The owners, he said, discovered the termites when they tried to make some kitchen renovations.
“The future of the house appears to be in the balance at the moment,” Reisman writes.
