New stores in a rebuilt mall in Clarkstown not only expands shopping options, but produces hundreds of jobs.
The Shops at Nanuet, an under construction open-air mall on Route 59, is nearly ready for an October opening even though two anchor stores Macy’s and Sear are already operating. This Friday, Aug. 23 there will be a job fair so the roughly 25 stores can connect with potential employees.
The event from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. will feature representatives from approximately 25 retailers looking to fill positions ranging from entry-level retail and sales to management positions.
“Our ultimate goal with hosting the Job Fair is to make connections between the exciting stores that will make up the retailer mix at The Shops at Nanuet and job seekers in Rockland County looking for a future in retail,” said Ryan Hidalgo, general manager for The Shops at Nanuet.
Retailers that will participate include Macy’s, Sears, Bonefish Grill, Sur La Table, Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar, Fairway Market, The Limited, Michael Kors, Sephora, European Wax Center, Paper Source, Kay Jewelers and Allied Barton Security Services.
The 66,000-square-foot mall is owned and developed by Simon Properties and this is its first project in Rockland County. It is being built on the site of the former Nanuet Mall.
The job fair will be at Comfort Inn and Suites, 425 Route 59 in Nanuet. For a list of retailers, go to Simon Properties website.
