Film crews are out on location in Rye this week for an indie feature, “The Man on Her Mind,” the movie adaptation of a full-length play that made its debut in London last year.
“A scene was shot at Rye Beach earlier this week, and through Friday, the production will be filming at 980 Forest Ave.. Both the exterior and interior of the private residence – a beautiful colonial with water views that’s currently on the market for $4.2 million – is being used as one of the character’s homes,” writes my reporter colleague Heather Salerno in her blog, Lohud Lowdown.
The house is in the heart of Milton Point has 4,236 square feet with five bedrooms and three full bathrooms. It has views of the Long Island Sound, a circular driveway and large stone terrace.
Filming will continue throughout the week, said Michele Flood of Coldwell Banker, who has the co-listing with Loretta Rapisardi of Julia B. Fee /Sotheby’s International.
“It’s a special house and this is an exciting use of it,” Flood added when reached by phone. The house has its own website filled with descriptions and photos.
The Wainwright House, a learning center on Stuyvesant Avenue, is also providing parking and other support to the movie shoot, though it will not be featured in the film.
“The Man on Her Mind” is a romantic comedy written by Alan Hruska about young Manhattan loners who create imaginary lovers, explains Salerno. The cast includes Welsh, Irish and English actors playing New Yorkers.
