Westchester realty groups announced today that they raised $22,522 to help the hungry and homeless in Westchester County at a recent fashion show luncheon.
The Women’s Council of Realtors, Empire Westchester Chapter and the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors raised the healthy sum for the Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless at its “Brown Bag for Hunger” Spring Fashion Show at the May 6 Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle.
This marks a $4,200 increase over last year’s donation, which is a good thing because the number of needy families has risen more then 24 percent in the past year, reports the organizers in a press release.
Bloomingdale’s again provided the fashions for the event and HGAR Realtors and affiliate members were the models.
The Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors is a nonprofit trade association covering more than 9,000 real estate professionals working in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Orange counties.
The Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless, Inc. is a nonprofit composed of autonomous food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, service organizations and individuals interested in alleviating hunger and homelessness in our region.
