In a busy IDA meeting this morning, county officials heard plans from PepsiCo to temporarily move to the former Starwood headquarters at 1111 Westchester Ave. in White Plains.
The relocation would only be needed while the company renovates its vast corporate center in Purchase. The office at 1111 Westchester Ave. - which has been vacated since Starwood moved to Stamford, Conn., about a year ago – would need a $10 million upgrade, and PepsiCo is seeking a sales tax exemption for that work.

Some PepsiCo employees will also be moving to the company’s Somers facility.
Also at the meeting, the IDA voted to approve a sales tax break for Xylem, a water company that is considering moving from White Plains to Connecticut. After breaking from ITT about a year ago, Xylem has to move out of its 1133 Westchester Ave. headquarters. Ernie’s story on that development can be found here.
