I wrote a story for Living Here on a great family with a wonderful house and a pretty cool backstory. Mark Picucci’s parents were the caretakers on a Westchester estate and he grew up there. Years later, when it was being sold off, Mark had the chance to buy six acres and build his dream house on the very spot where the guest cottage once stood. He even kept the original kidney shaped pool from the 1960s. Here’s the old guest cottage, then the new house:

The Picucci’s now have the house for sale. It’s got lots of room for entertaining, 5 bedrooms, 4 and half bathrooms, a salt water pool, spa, and a 1,000 square foot patio. Check out the kitchen, which is all custom:
The property also has a rolling lawn, a one-acre pond. Indoors, there’s a little bar made from black walnut milled from a fallen tree, a wine cellar and a huge basement that could easily be turned into a home theater or fitness center. The home is the Ossining school district. Read the full story in Sunday’s Living Here section, or go to lohud.com/livinghere
